Jon clicked the play button, and waited as the loading bar on the loading screen slowly moved across the screen. Once it reached the end, the computer screen went black for a few seconds, then the little animations of the games sponsors flashed one after another, until the black screen was replaced with an ancient looking map of a strange land. Then, a medieval song came from the speakers as the 'Rune Quest' title appeared at the top of the map. Then, a row of buttons appeared along the bottom edge of the map.
Before Jon could even move his mouse to click anything, the screen dimmed and another box with two buttons appeared in the middle of the screen, with a question: Hello my friend, and welcome to the world of RUNE QUEST! If you are new and would like to either do the introduction tutorial, or skip it, click one of the buttons below.
Jon moved the pointer and positioned it between the two buttons, wondering what he should do.
