The first thing Jon felt when he came to was the painful throbbing in his head.
"Ow!" hissed Jon as he sat up holding his head in his hands, his blurry vision could just make out his surroundings, he was in his bedroom.
"Welcome back to the land of the living bro," said a voice to his right startling him and causing the throbbing in his head to increase, he heard a giggle, "Rise and shine sleeping beauty."
Jon looked to his right to see his sister Zoe, sitting on a chair beside his bed. "Zoe? What happened? What time is it? Why aren't you at school?"
Zoe let out a sigh as she pulled her chair closer to the bed, as she did so Jon was better able to make her out and what he saw nearly gave him a heart attack. His fourteen year old sister, Zoe Madison, was as goth as you could get; wearing ripped black shirts, corsets, skirts, boots, piercings, black dyed hair and black makeup. This Zoe Madison was the most normal looking girl he had seen. Zoe's hair was free of its black dye and it was it's original dark brown, her pale white skin was now a healthy shade of tan, her clothes were a regular purple tank-top and jean shorts, even her attitude seemed different. 'What happened to Zoe, she looks... normal?'
As Jon finished that thought, Zoe finally spoke up, "Well, let's see here: what happened was you arrived in the kitchen and stared at Linda, Cindy and Sally like you didn't know who they were and when Linda asked you what was wrong, you - quite simply - fainted for some odd reason," Zoe here rolled her eyes and continued on, "So, after nearly scaring our big sister and her children half to death, since you wouldn't wake up and Linda had to drop the girls off at school and get to work, I - being the great young sister I am - volunteered to stay home with you until you woke up. Oh, and the time is now half past noon."
Jon glared up at her half-heartedly. "Thank you for that oh-so sarcastic explanation, Zoe," his younger sister smirked, "But, if Linda is our big sister then where is mom?"
Zoe's smug expression morphed into one of concern and a little sadness. "Jon, you mean you don't remember?"
"Remember? Remember what?" Jon frowned as Zoe's face went pale, "Zoe?"
"Y-you really don't remember?" stuttered Zoe, "Jon, Mom died in a car accident, along with Linda's husband Steve, two years ago. How can you not remember that?"
Jon, continued to stare at his sister in shock when he suddenly felt lightheaded and his vision began to swim, 'Aw, crap I think I'm going to...' And, once again, Jon's vision went black as he fainted. Again.
