Jon kept an eye out for the remainder of the day and night for anything that may have been caused by his wish, but noticed nothing by the time he was ready to go to sleep.
He shrugged. "Not much I can do about it now." he said to himself, laying down in his bed. "I'll just have to keep looking tomorrow."
Within a few minutes, Jon was sleeping soundly. The stone, which he had placed into the box it had been delivered to him in, however, was pulsing with energy as it prepared to deliver upon Jon's wish.
All over town, the magic of the stone was seeking certain people out. People who, among their social groups, were seen as the leaders. For example, Sarah McMillan and Biff Meadows, the leaders of the jocks and the preps, were among the first to be affected.
These people were being given a power by the stone that most people could only have dreamed of. They were given the power to persuade and lead those who fell into their social class better than they could before. Not only that, but each of these leaders was also going to be given a method with which they could, for lack of a better term, recruit new members into their cliques.
Finally, these leaders of the cliques would become the prime examples of the cliques that they represented. While this may have already been true in some cases, it would mean that any of the leaders who would normally not get along with each other would have a further animosity toward their new rivals.
As soon as the stone had finished it's magic, it stopped glowing. The leaders had been chosen, and they would awaken to find themselves imbued with the power to mold the world into their new ideal. And, with all of the different personalities that would be seeking to increase their ranks moving about the town, conflict would be inevitable.
Unknown to Jon, he had brought forth a strange, and potentially disastrous, war to his hometown.
