The sight that they encountered when they came to school was strange. People all looked human, or at least, they didn't have extra arms or legs, but something was wrong. Then Jon realized. "Wait a minute, they have the wrong parts!"
In fact, several people had a woman's arms or legs. Steve Farber even had breasts.
"What's going on?" asked Karyn. "You wished that everything would be okay, right?"
"No, I wished that the experimental procedures would work..." He reached into his pocket, touched the stone and said "I wish I knew what's going on here... Oh, I see. It's strange, but you see people were in the accident. Parts of their bodies damaged. The experiment allowed the injured parts to be instantly regrown, but it only was programmed for women. Any time it grew anything back, the patient's new part was female."
Karyn looked around further. Indeed, all the women seemed okay. But there were various male students, and even a teacher, who had had female parts. Several had arms or legs. One boy was walking awkwardly and his ass was the wrong shape--Karyn wondered if he had had his whole body half destroyed. Moose Mathews had what looked like a girl's face.
"We can't leave it like this," said Karyn. "Jon, you gotta fix this."
"I guess," said Jon, "but I did wish for something interesting. I can't reverse wishes so something else interesting would have to be happening instead. And I can't even do that since if I did, the experimental procedure wouldn't have worked. Uhh...."
"Think of something!" replied Karyn. "If the procedure worked on one person it still worked, right? So you can reduce it to one person and you wouldn't be reversing anything. In fact, just make it work on a woman."
"Okay. I wish that only one person was hurt in the accident and the experimental procedure worked on her."
Nothing happened. "Wait a minute," said Jon. "If I did that, it wouldn't be interesting. Lemme try again. I wish that only one person was hurt in the accident and the experimental procedure worked on him."
This time the wish did work. Most people were back to normal, except one....
