the next morning a ringing sound awoke Jon. He reached over to slap his alarm clocks snooze alarm, when if filtered through his sleep hazed mind it was his cell phone.
He picked it up and grunted out the typical gruff hello of the newly awakened.
"Oh my god! Jon! are you their!" karyns voice called out over the phone. "something terrible has happened!"
The sound of a paniced Karyn shook the sleep from Jons weary mind.
"MY GOD! what happened!" Jon said
"The bus... it crashed... alot of students died. Possibly even friends. I am really worried Jon. Apparently some can be saved but... well... they are trying radical and untested medical procedures to save them."
"What kind of procedures" Jon asked.
"well" Karyn said. "they have to act fast to replace body parts before they die, so they use what they find of the scene. Replacing missing parts with other peoples parts, stitching bodies together, etc. I heard they are using a highly experimental stem cell based regeneration creme to fix nerve damage. No one knows if the survivors will survive long... it may be as bad as being dead."
"calm down Karyn", Jon said in a soothing voice. "I am sure the doctors know what they are doing and our friends will pull through fine. What's the worst that could happen?"
Jon knew this could be very tragic, even traumatic, but he had to see. school may be interesting. Besides the wishing stone could fix the worst of it right.
