Karyn sighed as she looked down at herself. So much of her morning routine had been automatic, and it hadn't seemed even the slightest bit strange until she had looked at herself in the mirror while brushing out her hair. Now she couldn't shake just how odd it seemed.

It wasn't anything new, really. Or... it was new, but slightly less new for her than the others. After she had made her first stupid wish, her clothes had changed a bit. They had sized up to accommodate her new breasts, obviously, but there had been a slight shift in style that accompanied it. Not everything in her closet or dresser, of course. Her general style had stayed the same. Certain tops, though, had showed more cleavage. Others had been completely new to her wardrobe. The dresses she had were the most effected, emphasizing her chest more.

It had been uncomfortable, but workable. She didn't wear the dresses all that often anyway.

Now, though? With whatever Ms. Holloway had done, her entire wardrobe had changed. Way more dresses and skirt, and almost everything she had showed off her new chest. It was almost like Ms. Holloway's magic had twisted her original wish, ensuring that it hit her as hard as possible. But... at the same time...

She could remember growing into her chest, now. Going to the store alongside Jen and Sarah and the other girls. Getting looks as he breasts grew and being equal parts uncomfortable and proud of her appearance. Getting to high school and the attention from the boys in class...

Her wish hadn't messed with her mind. Her and Jon had been the only ones that hadn't had reality rewritten so that she had always had boobs as big as Sarah's. Now her memories were being altered, even if she could still remember the original way the world was. It was upsetting. More upsetting than the fact that she had dressed in a pink dress that showed off her chest quite a bit. She hadn't even thought about it. She also hadn't really thought about putting on the makeup that she had...

It was like she was her but not all at the same time. She finished with her hair and put the brush down, then moved to sit on her bed, taking her phone in hand. Nothing from Jen, but she was probably on her way over. It shouldn't take her too long. A message from Delia asking how she was doing. She could imagine her sending that same message to each of them. A message from Mike "The Moose", asking what she was up to later.

That was a whole thing to unpack. Both that he even had her number and that he was asking that? Was he interested in her? None of the jocks had even paid her attention before. At least not that she was aware of. It was possible that in the brief period between her dumb wish and Ms. Holloway doing her thing they maybe paid some more attention to her. But now she could remember them paying her a lot of attention. At first because she was friends with Sarah, and then because of her looks. And a bit because of who she was, she thought. Hoped, maybe, but she could remember talking with some of the guys and them actually listening.

Firing off a response to let Mike know she had plans with the others, she dropped her phone and went to the kitchen for a drink. Her mom was in there, doing some dishes. It caught Karyn a bit off guard. Her mom, now as blonde as she was. A casualty of that same damn wish.

"Getting an early start, hmm?" her mom asked.

"Yeah, heading to Sarah's later. Jen's coming over any minute."

"Doing anything specific?"

"Hanging out, probably going in her pool."

"That should be fun," her mom said. "The McMillan's pool is lovely. Makes me wish they'd have more pool parties for the adults."

"Mmm," Karyn said, sipping her water. That was... odd. Her mom hadn't known the McMillans, had she? Swallowing her sip, Karyn shrugged. "I was thinking I might change up my style," she said. "Maybe dye my hair? Go red?"

Her mom turned to look at her, eyebrow raised. She squinted, then smiled. "I'm not sure I can picture you with red hair, Karyn. Not that you wouldn't look lovely regardless, but... it's a big change."

Not as big as you think.

A knock on the door cut off her response, and Karyn dashed over to open it. Her eyes widened as she saw what Jen was wearing, and judging by the look on her friends face she was having a similar thought.

"How are you, Jen?"

"Not bad, Mrs. Black."

"We're gonna go to my room, okay mom?"

"Sure, but I don't want that glass getting lost in there."

"I'll bring it back before we head out," Karyn said. She led Jen to her room and closed the door behind them. "What's with the outfit?" she whispered to Jen.

"I could ask you the same thing," Jen said, plopping down on her bed. "But I'm guessing your answer would be similar to mine. It just kinda... happened without me thinking about it."

"You're wearing makeup too," Karyn observed. Jen reached up, touching her face. By her reaction she hadn't even realized.

"This whole thing is going further than we thought," Jen finally said. "It's like my Jon memories are being pushed back more and more. Not gone, but..."

"Jen feels more real than Jon?" Karyn asked. "I've been feeling some of that myself. The last couple of days it's been contextual memories popping up as I needed them, but now it's like..."

"More, yeah."

The pair sat in silence, taking in the gravity of this discovery. "I wonder if the others have noticed," Karyn said.

"Probably. It's kind of hard not to."

"Should we ask the stone about this? We can't stop this but we might be able to slow things down or something?"

"Something tells me it wouldn't work. And... it's not like it's a new thing. Just more pronounced."

"Do you think it's a trick by Ms. Holloway? She gave us until Monday to decide on this whole cheerleader thing and we're being more and more messed up by her magic?"

"Honestly? Probably," Jen said. "But I still don't know what to do about it. The stone can't stop her, and she threatened to basically completely overwrite Trinity. I don't want her going that far with any of us. And if we show up not acting how she expects?"

Karyn felt a chill run down her spine. She could already remember how different this other her was, if she was forced to act that way? The real her erased?

"Yeah..." Jen said. "So for now, I think we just try to keep an eye on things. We watch each other, try to keep us from acting too weird, and see what Sarah found out."

"If anything," Karyn said. It lacked the bite that talking about Sarah would have had just two days ago. Too many memories of them being friends. "Wanna watch something while we wait for the okay to head to Sarah's?"

Jen nodded, and the pair turned their attention to whatever they could put on to distract themselves.
