When Jon awoke the next morning he barely had time to curse his alarm clock before exiting his bed. The carelessness of his wish had caused him to stay up to late stressing and so he had slept fitfully and through his alarm clock.
As he passed by his sister, Zoe's, room he had just enough time to notice that, once again, she was doing her Goth thing. A black cotton corset and black hair-dye giving her the 'creature of the night' look that she so craved. "C'mon Zoe, Mom's gonna be pissed as is. Let's move!" he ordered into her room. In response she threw a brush at him.
Nope, nothing unusual there
He grabbed a pop-tart from a package opened on the counter (Mikey was eating the other one) and a glass of orange juicee before settling in. A few moments later Zoe, still darkly gloomy, entered as his mother entered, "All right, let's go. Van. Now."
Still nothing.
So Jon and his family marched off to school. Swinging out of the driveway, Jon glanced at his neighbors house. The lights were off and he didn't see anyone waiting at the end of the drive for the bus. That in itself wasn't too odd, given that Leonard's mother would give him a ride to school if Leonard actually was up on time, yet Jon couldn't help but wonder if his wish had done something to the neighbor.
They continued to drive in the direction of his school. Jon's mom slowed as a blonde head of hair came in to view, "C'mon Karyn. We'll get you the rest of the way." she said, pulling up next to the teen.
"Thanks Mrs. Madison." Karyn said, climbing in and taking a seat in the back with Mikey. Jon took a moment to survey Karyn - other than the 'enhancements' she'd gotten earlier, nothing new.
They arrived at the school plaza and Mrs. Madison unlocked the doors, "Bus home tonight. I might be a little late, so Jon and Zoe, go ahead and put the Lasagna I left in the fridge in the oven. 450 for 45 minutes. See ya." she kissed Mikey on the cheek and pulled away.
Immediatly the Madisons went their seperate ways, leaving Jon standing with Karyn. "I think I might have made a mistake, Karyn." Jon whispered as the pair headed toward the doors to the school.
"What do you mean?"
"I made a wish. An open ended one." he started.
Karyn sighed, "Jon, really? After all of this..." she pointed at her blone hair and breasts, "You just...wished?"
Jon nodded, "I know, it was stupid, all right? The trick is, I haven't seen anything yet."
That was when he heard Sara. The cheerleader was cackling and calling out while pointing, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe you're wearing that! It looks like..."
