By the time Jon was fully sucked into the TV, the remote dropped to the floor, and the channel stopped on a re-run of "Star Trek: Voyager".
Jon blinked a couple of times and looked around at the empty corridor. It looked just like one of the sets from the show. Jon wasn't a huge fan of "Voyager", but he had seen enough of the episodes to be familiar with it.
"Lieutenant Paris," a commanding voice suddenly said. Jon recalled that the voice belonged to Seven of Nine, a human woman who had been rescued from the Borg, a race of cybernetic beings. Although she was no longer a Borg drone, she still had many cybernetic implants and still acted in an orderly and logical manner (not quite grasping emotions). But the one thing that Jon remembered about her above all was that she was totally hot (especially in that silver catsuit and high heels), even if she didn't act like it.
He turned around and saw her approaching him. "Lieutenant Paris, are you listening to me?" Seven of Nine (or just Seven, for short) asked.
I took Paris' place? Jon thought. Tom Paris was the helmsman, but also a bit of a do-his-own-thing carefree kind of guy. Or at least he was during the first half of the series. Jon didn't know which episode this was, but it had to be no earlier than the fourth season, because Seven was there.
"Jon Paris, do you need to see the doctor? You seem ... unwell," Seven said.
Wait a minute, Jon thought. My first name replaced Paris' first name? This is weird. "Uh, yeah," Jon finally said. "Maybe I should." He looked down at himself briefly, noting that he was still himself, but that he was wearing Paris' Starfleet uniform.
Seven looked at him oddly, then walked away, leaving Jon to try to figure out where the sickbay was. He didn't know that much about the show, so he didn't know what room was on which deck. But who said he had to go see the doctor anyway? Really, he could go anywhere he wanted.
