Jon tried to think. Karyn made a wish to get her old looks back and it worked. But according to his grandfather's letter, wishes couldn't be reversed. Except, maybe they couldn't be reversed by the stone. Karyn's wish wasn't granted by the stone. It was granted by him ... somehow. Maybe that's why it worked.
But right now, he had a more pressing matter to take care of. Karyn had accidentally wished that he had the blond hair and large breasts that she had wished for earlier that day.
"I wish I didn't have breasts or long blond hair and looked just like I did before Karyn came in the house a few minutes ago," he said. Jon waited for the bright light to surround him again, but it never came. Apparently, he couldn't make wishes himself. Only other people could. Or maybe his wish didn't work because these wishes couldn't be reversed, by using the same method that granted them in the first place, just like with the stone.
He turned and looked at Karyn. "Karyn," he said, grabbing her attention. She looked at him. "Make a wish in your head. I want to see if people have to say wishes out loud." He didn't really think about that before. He just assumed that only verbal wishes would come true, but he shouldn't have been assuming anything when he didn't completely understand what was happening.
Karyn closed her eyes for a few moments and when she opened them ...
