As Jon walked downstairs to his front door, he was surprised to see Jay Duncan, Leonard Drullers, and Carl James. They were some of the geekiest guys at school. But, although they were nice enough, they weren't really friends of Jon and Karyn. Why were they at his house? And why did his mom think they were his friends?
"What are you guys doing here?" Jon asked.
"We're here to pick you up," Carl said. "Just like always."
"Are you sure you have the right house?" Jon asked, joking a bit.
"What do you mean?" Leonard asked, confused.
Jon looked closely at them. They certainly weren't kidding around. They really believed that they were picking him up to take him to school. Could it be that this was the result of his vague wish? If Jay and his fellow geeks were his friends now, then what happened to Karyn?
"Come on, Jon," Jay said, getting impatient. "Let's go. I want to get to school early."
