"Jon! Let go of your sister!" Sarah yelled at him.
"No!" Jon yelled back.
"Excuse me?" asked the woman who thought she was his mother.
"I need to take her somewhere. It's important." Without waiting for Sarah to make a reply, he pulled Karyn down the hall and then down the stairs. On his way down, however, Sarah snapped out of her temporary daze.
"If you don't stop right now, you're grounded!" she yelled down the stairs.
"Fine, then ground me," he said, then he pulled Karyn out of the house.
"What the fuck is wrong with you, Jon?" Karyn asked. "Why are you doing this?"
"I'm taking you home," he said.
"I was home."
"No. You only think that's your home," he said.
They walked about halfway to Karyn's real home (in near silence), when suddenly Karyn yanked herself away from him and started running off in a different direction.
"Crap," Jon muttered, then chased after her.
He wanted to do this as quickly as possible, but it looked like it was going to take a little longer. What if he finally got Karyn back to being Karyn, but did it too late and she still had a lot of Zoe left in her? If only his sister had been a little less aggressive, maybe this version of Karyn would be too. They could have been at her house by now, but instead, Jon had to chase her across half the neighborhood.
"Karyn!" he yelled after her, breathing heavily. "Come back here! I'm trying to help you!"
