"Okay mom! I'll be down in a sec!" Karyn yelled back out of habit.
"What's happening?" Emily asked, not having heard Karyn's mother.
"My mom is calling me for dinner." Karyn answered as she stood up from her chair. "I have to go if I don't want her to worry. I'll be back soon!"
"Wait! What about... What do I do in the meantime?" Emily asked.
"I don't know. The tutorial is talking about quests right now but I think I need to be there. Just stay here for now! I'll come back as soon as I can, alright?"
Emily wanted to stop her, but she knew Karyn had to continue to live her life if she wanted to avoid suspicion. "Fine... I'll wait for you." She finally said.
Karyn smiled and nodded. "See you in a bit!" And with that, she walked toward the door and Emily couldn't see her anymore.
Emily sighed as she sat down on the street with nothing to do. She looked at her menu for a bit but couldn't find anything really interesting. The quest section was still empty despite Karyn having a tutorial about it. However, something soon appeared to alleviate her boredom.

A message appeared suddenly before her eyes, almost making her jump. "What the... Wait! You're the game?" She asked in disbelief. "I thought you only talked to Karyn?"

Emily became suspicious. There was very little the game had done until now that she liked and she feared what would happen now. "What do you want?" She asked coldly.

Emily could almost see its smile as it toyed with her. She wanted to tell it to fuck off, but she feared what it could do to her if she did. "Fine! What is your opportunity?" She asked reluctantly.

Emily frowned but didn't say anything. It was an opportunity as the game had said and she couldn't ignore it. Many questions passed through her head, but she quickly settled on one of them. It was a question that had been stuck in her head since this game began. "How is this game a game I'd enjoy?"
