Jon grabbed the stone from his bedroom and made a wish to know what was up with his family acting weird. The stone glowed and he got his answer.
"Well?" Zoe asked.
"Apparently, that book that Mom read from was the product of my wish for something interesting to happen."
"Fuck, Jon," she said. "I knew that wish was going to be trouble. What exactly did Mom do to us?"
"You don't remember?" Jon asked.
She scratched her blond head. "It's kind of fuzzy."
"Well, the spell she recited was supposed to stop us from fighting with each other."
"So we were right? We really didn't get along with each other?" She shook her head. "I really can't imagine that."
"Neither can I, but it's the truth."
"So why are Mom and Mikey hating each other?"
"She messed up the incantation," Jim explained. "The spell worked. It made us friends. But it had an unfortunate side effect. It turned Mom and Mikey into enemies."
"Is there a way to reverse what happened to them?"
"I don't know. If there is, it might reverse all of it and I don't want to lose you as a friend."
"Neither do I," Zoe said.
