Lydia kept jogging until she spotted something odd sitting on the road near the curb. It seemed to sparkle in the sun, like it was slightly metallic or something, but from a distance it just looked like a small slip of paper. She picked it up and looked at it. It was a lottery ticket. And it was a winner ... for one million dollars! She stared at it, not quite believing that she was holding it. Why would someone just throw something like this away? Or was it thrown away? Maybe someone lost it.
She was torn between doing what was right (trying to find the original owner) and what she wanted to do for herself (cashing it in and using the money for whatever she wanted).
With a million dollars, she could quit her job and have as much free time as she wanted to do whatever she wanted. But she did like her job. She just didn't like all the other stuff that went along with it.
