Zoe bounced down the steps and into the living room, then dropped down on the couch next to her brother, who was watching cartoons.
"Hey, little bro," she said.
Mikey thought he heard her wrong. Was she actually being nice to him? He turned and got a shock. She was no longer Goth. She still had her black hair, but her clothes were totally different. She was wearing a light pink baby-T shirt and a white pleated miniskirt. On her feet were a pair of pink heels. He had never seen his sister look like this before. For a moment, he wasn't even sure she was his sister, just some other girl with her face, if that even made any sense.
She smiled at him, then giggled.
"Hey, guys!" It was his mom's voice, but she sounded way too happy and bubbly.
Mikey turned and saw his mom skip into the room, then drop down next to Mikey, on the other side of the couch. "I love this show," she said, before giggling. She was almost acting like a little girl. And now that he thought about it, so was Zoe. What was happening?
