"It's easy," said Gary. "Look at that." He pointed to the height.
"What's so strange about that?" said Catherine in her little girl voice. She sounded strange, with the tones of a child but the vocabularity of an older person.
"I told you. No flirty. No good kisser. No orientation. No relationship. You have a body type and hair color but they're different. It probably means they're all unlocked and I can change them now."
"First of all, you're just guessing that you 'unlocked' those. Second, I'm 3 years old. How are you going to get rid of that? Turn me into something that can't have an age?"
She looked too cute trying to say something too sophisticated for a toddler. Gary kept expecting her to mispronounce words. "I could turn you into a dog. 3 would be 21 in dog years. Or is that 18?"
"I'd still be 3 in human years, and how would you turn me back to human anyway?"
"I could write 'bitch'. That could mean either a human or a dog."
"No."
"Fine, I'll use my other idea. Android."
"I'm the comic book person, and you're thinking of androids? How does that help..." Suddenly Catherine was much taller. Androids, of course, didn't grow. They were whatever age they were made at and even one made 3 years ago would probably not be made to look like a toddler.
The card now read (with bold and italic not actually being on the card):
Name: Catherine Gibson
Sex: Female
Species/Type: Android
Age: 3
Apparent age: 17
Hair Color/Length: Baby blonde/20 Inches
Eyes: Green
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 250 lbs
Body Type: Teenager
Clothes: School Uniform
Attitude: shy
Her weight didn't show--she looked human, but she must have been made of something heavier than human. Her breasts were a more manageable size that Gary guessed were around D. "Look," said Gary, showing her the card. "I fixed you. It really did unlock the things it had to change. You don't have double D's any more. And if you don't want to be heterosexual, how about bisexual?"
"You call that a fix?"
"We can fix the uniform too. Go put on something else. And you could cut your hair...."
"I'm still a girl!"
"You're only upset about that because I didn't make you my girlfriend again. But let's see what I can do...."
