As Jon looked out the window, he watched as the house across the street (the one belonging to Mrs. Wilson, an old lady) began to shimmer and change shape. Soon, it had been reconfigured into a gas station. From his distance, he wasn't sure, but he could have sworn that the woman standing behind the cash register inside the mini-mart was Mrs. Wilson herself. Oddly, she didn't seem to be confused by her new circumstances. But then again, Jon couldn't quite see her clearly from this distance.
Jon turned away from the window. "It's happening across the street too," he told his brother and sister.
