"You could have let Julian meet his fate." - Said The Woman, smirking - "In point of fact, I think you might do precisely that in other times."
"Yes, well. I got mellower." - Said Selene, smirking herself - "Plus Lucas would feel it. No matter how much she feigns otherwise."
"Which brings us back to Aurelius." - Said The Woman - "Do you think Lucas will interfere past getting Hermes to cripple his 'power', such as it is?"
"Short answer, no. Long answer, she would rather eat a sandwich made of stale bread and rusty nails than ever see the man's face again. On the top of which is the fact that she knows the man will have a nasty surprise next time he tries to tap his lawyers to solve his self-created problems. She knows, furthermore, that the man's ability to do harm is very limited now that he lacks a media empire." - Said Selene - "Let me put it this way: It takes a lot to get Lucas not to even want to gloat at someone when she outmatches them. This is the kind of fight Lucas wants to forget ever happened, a task which would be made more difficult were she to come into contact with, as she puts it, Idiot Millionaire again."
"Besides which, she trusts me." - Said Hermes, appearing - "And while she doesn't intend to gloat over the man, as that would require contact, she is clearly quite content with letting me do so for her."
"You talk as if you did not enjoy it." - Said Selene, smirking.
"The man used all I taught humanity about trade and communication in all the wrong ways." - Said Hermes - "It is natural that I would take pleasure in getting a rise out of him. And, well... He infuriated Lucas. I could not let that go unpunished."
"You took a shine for her? Like an older brother type? How adorable!" - Said Selene - much more Celine/Neruite at the moment, however.
"She is very much still your chosen and your champion, but she is of me by trade. As she is of Liber by nature..." - Said Hermes - "However, I do not deny that I did take a liking for her."
"She can fend for herself, however, Hermes." - Said The Woman.
"And I would never dare assume otherwise, sister. I am well-aware that Lucas can do things us gods cannot." - Said Hermes, smiling - "However, using the 'older brother' idea Selene saw fit to bring up, an older brother will frequently go the extra mile in punishing anyone that hurts their sibling."
"Though I somewhat share your enjoyment in seeing the man who infuriated my champion punished, mind that it is not meaningless." - Said Selene.
"I did tell him what to do to change his newfound ill luck." - Said Hermes - "Learning to be the person he is not."
"And do you think he will change his ways?" - Asked The Woman.
"That is very much up to him." - Said Hermes, simply.
