Hawkins stifled a sigh. He didn't want to give into this debate just yet. Cecilia herself could read Hawkins' reaction easily and decided to move along the investigation.

"Seeing as you invited us here..." - Said Hawkins, carefully - "...we might as well ask you about the master key to Jeff."

"I gave it the master key." - Said Geoffrey Sr.

"I'm sorry?" - Asked Nate.

"I gave the master key to the clockwork toy that was once my son." - Said Geoffrey Sr, clarifying.

"You call your daughter it?" - Asked Cecilia, only her synthetizers hiding the disgust in her voice.

"It is now a giant toy. A machine." - Said Geoffrey.

"Anyways." - Said Hawkins, very nearly sighing as he slowly began to realize what drove Lucas to those extremes - "Regardless of what pronoun you choose to use, where is she, now?"

"Gone." - Said Aurelius, simply - "I evicted them. The mermaid's family is due here in an hour or so to retreive the mermaid as well."

"You evicted your wife and kid?" - Asked Hawkins.

"It is all legal, agent." - Said Aurelius.

"I see. Our business is done for now, Aurelius." - Said Hawkins. He looked, suddenly, at a sled. A Citizen Kane sled.

"If I may. Whose sled is that?" - Asked Hawkins.

Aurelius's expression grew colder.

"Mine. Someone... Invaded my office and gave it to me. Apparently that someone is related to some... market changes that gravely harmed me." - Said Aurelius - "He claimed to be some sort of deity."

"I see." - Said Hawkins, simply - "We will show ourselves out."

The trip back to the hotel

"All legal." - Said Cecilia - "Yeah, sure. More like 'illegal, but my lawyers can find loopholes'. Not that Olivia and Jeff would want to be near him any longer. They must have left of their own accord too."

"I do not think it matters." - Said Hawkins - "Seemingly, Aurelius received a visit by Hermes."

"It fits, yes." - Said Cecilia - "I don't think Lucas was bluffing when she left. It was very surgical, too. Aurelius lost his media conglomerate, without any loss to shareholders and without any layoffs."

"Lucas had been talked down from murder, so it stands to reason that she'd still find it within herself to do something to him that crippled his ability to do harm." - Said Hawkins - "The personal loss to him was just a bonus. As was the comparison to Charles Foster Kane. Lucas likely found out some means of dealing with his, shall we say, legal muscle as well."

"He'll have a surprise when he finds out. Let me check something... Huh." - Said Cecilia.

"What?" - Asked Hawkins.

"Lucas didn't post the video I gave her anywhere." - Said Cecilia.

"That is a bit odd for her." - Said Hawkins - "But maybe she's... Well, maturing a bit."

The Moon

Lucas, right now rendered anime-ized, sneezed.

"Huh. Wonder who's talking about me. Anyways, Cass, I tap one Swamp, one Island and one Plains, and you get a Mind Funeral."

"Counterlash." - Said Cass, smirking - "And you get an Into the Maw of Hell to the face for your troubles. Your Island is destroyed and I deal the 13 damage to my own Boros Reckoner, which, in turn, deals them all to you. Don't ever say Izzet decks aren't trustworthy again."

"I still have three life..." - Said Lucas, smirking - "Your turn."

"Untap, draw, Lightning Bolt." - Said Cass, simply.

"You're good." - Said Lucas, smiling - "Wanna make it interesting?"

"Like, betting?" - Asked Cass, frowning.

"No, no, like 'using your anime trope powers to make the games all suspenseful', like the cards being just right to make it get all filled with twists and turns." - Said Lucas.

"Oh! Sure, just give me some bluster, it'll work better with it." - Said Cass.

Lucas flared up her halo a bit and smirked, posing and willing some lights to appear.

"Yes, Cass, your deck is very adept indeed at controlling what is cast or not. Unlike you, I don't counter anything. Neither do I have to. You can do what you like against my deck. Mortals have free will..."

The two began applying Cass's anime field and some other tricks to a card game for geeks.

The trip back to the hotel

"Then again, maybe she isn't really maturing." - Said Hawkins.

"What changed your mind so quickly?" - Asked Cecilia.

"I don't know." - Said Hawkins.
