The Enemy attacked the two - Lucas especially, both due to a specific feeling it had been experimenting with the aid of Julian and due to the fact that Lucas held an item of great power. The main issue there was that the angel and the demon were quite human-sized, and hitting the two was no easy feat.
It finally caught the angel off-guard, hitting her with a sideways blow.
"AHHH!" - Lucas screamed as she landed on the ground.
The Enemy felt - such a new concept for it - happiness. It wasted no time in trying to literally stomp Lucas down.
Lucas smirked and rolled over from underneath the foot.
And then, the Enemy weighing much more than Lucas, the floor gave under it.
The Enemy tumbled as it fell into a large hole filled with spikes. It had received little to no damage, but it would have a lot of trouble getting off of there.
Lucas, by her turn, had reformed her sword into three interconnected signs with 9.5, 10 and 9 written in bas relief, which she calmly held up.
"Good call, Johanna!" - Lucas said - "Now we can kill it at our leisure..."
"Danke, my people hunted large prey all the time, but the spikes will not kill it like they would a mammoth..."
"Correction." - Said Sider, smirking as he typed on the keyboard - "It's true that the spikes that would kill a mammoth back then wouldn't even scratch this being. However, back then, spikes..."
Sider kept typing - "...weren't laced with..."
He hit Enter and, with a loud BOOM, a huge jet of flames erupted from the hole.
"...explosives!"
"Seeing stuff go boom is so magical!" - Said Lucas, smirking - "Sider, do us all a favor and use your Siderscope to see if the Enemy is still there? I mean, just to know if it needs poking..."
"Already did, boss, they left the moment their little doll ceased to be." - Said Sider - "Cutting their losses, I take it."
"Please don't call me boss. What is it with you people and titles of late? I got called a lady and it wasn't even by Jerry Lewis..." - Said Lucas.
"Lady Lucas, are you okay? That was magnificent..." - Said Brittany, walking towards the area where the Enemy was taken down.
Samuel smirked.
"By her, I take it..."
"Everyone, meet Brittany, Jon, Haru, er... I want to say Sarah and Drake? I suck at names." - Said Lucas.
"Karyn..." - Said Karyn - "I'm really not Sarah."
"Tim." - Said Tim - "But at least close enough for a DC fan..."
"Alrighty." - Said Lucas - "The large-ass clockwork is scrap now. More specifically, it's Sider's scrap, he wanted it for himself in exchange for helping us deal with it. We still got to go check on the source, though. Should be safe, now. Wanna come?"
"Well, we're already here..." - Said Jon.
"Splendid. Gonna call Hawkins and tell him and Cecilia to rescind the alert call thingy." - Said Lucas in a moment of Buffy Speak.
"You mean tell people it's safe now?" - Asked Karyn, helpfully.
"Yep." - Said Lucas, pulling her cell phone.
Loss.
The Enemy consoled itself that it had not lost any of itself this time. It did nothing to improve the fact that it had lost another shot.
