Ginger opened the door, cradling Nina in her arms. Ever since Tim had gotten the job, things were looking up. The place was so desperate for help that they even accepted to pay some of the salary in advance - and quite a good salary for their standards.
She did a double-take at the woman that greeted her.
"Hello." - Said Selene, smiling - "I'm Celine Andrews. I am sort of Robert's friend..." - She said, gently.
"Oh, right. Robert told me about you. Come on in." - Said Ginger - "She wasn't very specific or anything... I mean, I can tell you're a changed, and you have some moon thing about you, but..."
Selene smiled a bit.
"Yeah, you can say that. How's little Nina been doing?"
"She's been doing fine... Heck, I expected her to wake up crying more often..." - Said Ginger.
"Is that so?" - Asked Selene/Neruite, smiling a bit.
"Yeah." - Said Ginger.
"May I hold her?" - Asked Selene.
Ginger nodded and handed Nina over. Selene cradled her gently as she slept.
Nina blinked as Selene glowed a bit and was about to say something about that when there was another knock on the door.
It was Robert, this time, carrying a few toys.
"Uhm, I had bought them to take care of her before... Plus..." - She blushed.
Ginger giggled a bit.
"You miss her. You helped us a lot. Come on in."
"Guys?" - Asked Robert. She then looked at Selene, who smiled to her.
"Oh, hello, Robert."
"Ah, hello..." - She said as she walked in and sat - "How is little Nina?"
"Doing fine, Robert." - Said Selene, smiling a bit.
"Good... And how is, er, Tim?"
"Oh, the new job is great. He loves it." - Said Ginger - "And you were right, the pay is excellent."
"Splendid." - Said Selene - "If you ever need anything, all you have to do is ask."
"You guys are too much." - Said Ginger, smiling - "Er, let me fix us some coffee..."
"Sure." - Said Robert as she set the toys down and picked up the still-sleeping baby from Selene.
Ginger left. Right afterwards, she shouted in surprise.
"What the fuck???"
Selene and Robert got to the kitchen as fast as they could. In it was a bunch of baby stuff, from packs upon packs of diapers to formula and a nice playpen, and a bunch of baby clothes and toys for all baby ages. All of it was brand new and one of the packs of diapers had a sheet of paper taped to it, where it read "STUFF FOR THE BABY. ENJOY!" in fairly horrible penmanship.
Ginger was very surprised, but that surprise was slowly giving way to happiness.
Robert and Selene looked at each other and nodded, smirking.
"Lucas." - They said in unison.
