"Okay..." - Said Lucas - "So I just got to convince Jeff to solve a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff... How, exactly?"

"Patience." - Said Neruite, gently - "It should happen soon."

Lucas shrugged, looking pensive.

"Am I... in my place, Neruite? The things I've been doing this last week..."

"People come unto power in a myriad of ways, Lucas. So far, you haven't misused it. And your presence was needed. Why do you ask?"

"I'm a normal person. Well... For a given definition of 'normal'. And I'm discussing time paradoxes and keeping time loops as if I were The Doctor. I love it, but it worries me. Am I... I mean..."

"The place where the falling angel meets the rising ape." - Said Neruite - "You are wondering if you are transcending something and, though you like it, it also scares you a bit that you may lose part of your humanity in so doing."

Lucas blushed and nodded.

"I have plans, Neruite. Big ones, too, after this battle is over, after the Sun changes back. But..."

"I am Celine and Selene. I understand you perfectly, Lucas. There are, however, two things you are forgetting. One, you are still very much a human in mind. As am I, at least when I am Celine. Two, to use The Doctor himself as an example, he cares. Yes, he's very much an alien, but he applies human morality more often than not."

"Well, I suppose..." - Said Lucas, blushing.

"On another subject, how did it go with the mad scientist?" - Asked Neruite.

"Oh" - Said Lucas, in a 'I'm pretending this is a normal conversation' tone - "It went okay, the mad scientist I met said that in three or four days I'll have the stuff I need to go destroy with the aid of Excalibur the new moon that's actually a collective mind. I will then come back here and will some sushi into existence."

Neruite chuckled.

"Weird even by post-change standards, innit?"

"Oh, I love it, but I'm beginning to think my résumé will be studied as an epic story a thousand years from now if I ever update it..."

"Eh, I don't think translation agencies will care about how you saved the world a few times..." - Said Neruite, smirking, as she kept on the joke.

"Mmm. Point. So, just main jobs and references, then..." - Said Lucas - "Not as epic, but won't make me sound like I'm utterly and completely nuts, so everybody wins..."
