Mid-morning

"Sider? Jon? A word each, please..." - Said Cass - "Separately."

Jon nodded and waited outside.

"Sure, Miss Wilkins, what is it you need?" - Asked Sider.

"If I may, Sider, what do you know about the new moon?" - Asked Cass.

"Not much. No matter how precise or powerful I make my sensors, there's... something blocking them. I tried retrofitting the gravitonic lenses, but it didn't help. It's like a quantum energy vibration that..."

At that point, Cass could tell Sider was getting a bit agitated in his "mad scientist" mode.

"Ahem!" - Said Cass, sweatdropping.

"Oh. Sorry." - Said Sider - "Anyways. Why do you ask?"

"What if I said, Sider, that someone I know has an idea of what is in that moon and that the thing in that moon is intending to attack the Earth? And that that someone has a convenient way to make it to that Moon, but no way to procure a space suit that will allow her to move freely, especially as a means to fight what will be there?"

"I would say" - Said Sider, carefully - "that such a theory should be tested. As for equipment, I would say that they need a gravitational belt, an UV-protector and a self-recycling air anchor. And that these things would have to be made to withstand whatever the beings on that moon throw at them."

Cass nodded.

"You would get your information about the new moon, too."

"At the price of destroying it." - Said Sider.

Cass nodded.

"Yes. However, Sider, let me test a theory about you?"

He nodded. Cass went on.

"What if we said we intend to harness the power of that moon?"

"No! You fools! You will doom us all!" - Shouted Sider, in a sudden outburst. Cass smiled as Sider blinked at his own reaction.

"You see, Sider..." - said Cass - "I know my mad scientists. The good ones know when something might go horribly wrong. And you are one of the good ones."

Sider smirked.

"Flattery will get you nowhere, teacher. But feel free to keep using it. I will need some cash and some time, a few days, to make the equipment, though."

"I'm only an intermediary." - Said Cass - "However, here is the card of the person. Can you call her once the classes are over?"

"Will do." - Said Sider - "Thanks." - He left and let Jon in.

"Yes, Miss Wilkins?" - Said Jon, uneasily.

Cass knelt down and hugged Jon gently. Jon blushed hard as Cass got up.

"Uhm..."

"You've been carrying a great burden, Jon. I just wanted to say it was not your fault and that you actually helped the world a great deal."

Jon nodded.

"You know, then."

"Lucas told me, yes. I hope you don't get offended."

Jon shook her head.

"She may be a bit, er... spontaneous, but I trust her."

"You've been given a lot of power, Jon, and a lot of responsibility too. But remember that you're human and that you can ask for help anytime, okay?"

Jon nodded, blushing.

"Thank you... If I may..."

"Yes, Jon, I like my transformation. I'd not mind changing back or keeping it."

Jon smiled.

"Thank you..."

"You're welcome."
