"Son of a gun..." - Said Lucas, smiling. The expression, there, was of admiration. Admiration at the same trickery she so liked as a method - "And if Jeff goes tell his dear sweet father, he spills the beans on his little hobby. And on everything else. Charles Augustus Milverton." - She added, alluding to the blackmailer in Sherlock Holmes - "Gotta love it."
"Convinced now that you don't need to interfere in everything?" - Said Selene - "Ricky came up with the kind of solution you likely would if you had none of your current power. And it did what direct power could not. You stand to learn from Ricky..."
"Re-learn, you mean. Heh. One month with a sword and I forget trickery." - Said Lucas, smiling a bit sadly.
"Uhm... Lucas? Not to put too fine a point on it..." - said Robert as Lucas picked up the tab - "But what about this new moon?"
"As I said, we need to learn more about it before we can worry too much about it. And get someone to make me able to live on its surface somehow. Luckily, some feds owe me favors." - Said Lucas.
"It's not an immediate threat to me or to the Earth. That much I know. Plus, I'm a big girl. So don't worry about protecting me." - Said Selene.
Lucas blushed.
"I didn't say anything about..."
Neruite smirked.
"I know you."
Lucas left Robert at the Church, her spirits much improved by just how awesome a trick Ricky had pulled. She would have to find a way to deal with the new Moon, but that could wait. At least for a while, that could wait.
Of course, this being Lucas, something would happen to draw her attention.
She walked by a fairly empty block, wanting to know more of her lover's city. The only other person was this three-eyed Asian girl.
Said girl looked at her
She then fell to the ground clutching her own head and screaming and began shaking, like she was having a seizure.
"Ah, merda..." - Said Lucas to herself. She grabbed the girl and used the Moon trick to open a portal to the nearest hospital.
As Lucas all but teleported carrying the girl, a dazed nurse, a cat-woman, looked at the angel.
"You... Created a portal out of nowhere..." - Muttered the nurse.
"Yes! YES! Also, the TARDIS is bigger on the inside, now HELP HER!" - Said Lucas.
The nurse recovered her senses and complied, calling a (perfectly ordinary and American) doctor.
Haru's perspective
Haru was walking back home from some errands. As she made her way back, she caught a glimpse of a stereotypical "warrior angel", one carrying a sword.
And then everything went nuts.
She saw water - more water than she could conceive - and a woman, but it was no woman Haru had ever seen, it was a thing with fractals, spiraling up and up, beautiful and terrifying, she saw an island and an orchard of apples, a sword in a stone, time standing still and restarting, Neil Gaiman's Death of the Endless smirking as she toppled a king chess piece, the same angel woman smirking as she twisted the arm of... someone, Haru thought idly, she couldn't quite identify him, but some politician from the Seventies or whatever. She saw the angel's sword pointed at a French nobleman, changing into a spear, the French Anthem playing in the background. She saw the same angel cutting threads with her sword, the word fate on them. She saw a little squirrel girl and some other one, fighting against that... thing she once saw in Tiffany. She heard Your sword is as water, she saw the angel walking outside - outside-outside, outside everything - and entering a copy of Nineteen Eighty-Four. She then saw... Selene. She somehow knew it was Selene. It was also someone else. The goddess pulled the angel out of the book, somehow. She saw... Was that Miss Wilkins, her social studies teacher? She heard English and Portuguese being spoken at her. Water, Ã?gua, Water, Ã?gua, Water, Ã?gua, Water, Ã?gua... It went on and on in a crescendo. She saw and heard all those things at once.
She screamed at the sensory overload of it all, clutched her own head and fainted.
Haru woke up in a hospital room. The angel was by her side, but thankfully she no longer elicited those visions.
"Ufa..." - Said Lucas - "You okay, girl?"
Haru honestly didn't know what to answer.
