The salty smell was back in my nose. I was slightly unbalanced and had to lean against the wall. The coastline, the wall, all was as before. The wind caught some of my hair. Much more hair than I remembered. Bright brown, almost gold, and getting in my face. I moved it away, irritated, and noticed that I had the tiniest hand I had ever seen - at least on me. I was pretty sure it was smaller than at the last login. And why did I have to lean against the wall? I tried to straighten up, but I almost fell again. My sandals were equipped with high heels. That was part of the answer. Another part of the answer was the extra weight in my front. Slightly embarassed, I noticed that the cleavage was visible in that robe I had chosen. That was it. I had gotten the wrong gender. Now to find out why, and how to change it.
I struggled towards the entrance, where a guard was supposed to give you directions for the city. He was there, majestic and bowing courteously at my arrival.
- Welcome, Subeyde. May I be of help?
- Beg pardon?
- I said welcome, Subeyde. May I be of help?
- Yes please.
I was a bit confused. It wasn't the name I had choosen. How could this be?
- I wish to petition an error.
- You should start by entering the city and choosing a bank. There you can get further equipment and your starting money.
This stupid NPC would be of no help, obviously. I realised I had jumped this part of the manual. What would be the proper question?
- You can also get a surname by asking at the city hall.
That was it. The name must have gone corrupt in the outage. But why this gender change? I moved towards the city hall. I knew I had to get things right this first session. Game guides are much more helpful the first time you enter than later in the game. I realised that Susan would have a hard time finding me with the wrong name, not even mentioning the wrong gender.
