Alex looked at the closed door, and heard what his father had to say. Deep inside, a simmering anger and indignation came forth. Deep in her mind, the draconic pride made its presence felt. Alex was a dragon, a majestic creature of legend. And here was this idiotic, pathetic, puny creature denying him and his sister the basic, decent treatment one would grant to their own children, all because of something beyond their control, all because of his stupid little bigotry.

"ENOUGH!" - Alex bellowed - "YOU WILL RESPECT US! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE US AROUND, YOU WILL LEAVE, YOU INSIGNIFICANT LITTLE CREATURE! INTO THE SUN!"

His/her chest felt warm, and, suddenly, she was clawing at the door, small tongues of flames coming out of her mouth - and doing MUCH more damage than a fist normally would. Her sister, startled, backed away, as Alex tore open a hole on the door. A hole that allowed the sunlight to hit her father. Alex was quite strong indeed in this form, a fact he did not mind at all. She knew that she would not, ordinarily, act like this, even after his father's usual diatribes, on gays, on blacks, on - well - anything different from him, really. But right now she could not care less, especially considering that she was now its target. She had had it, and, for good measure, she grabbed the man she formerly called father and threw him into the sunlight, without touching him further, as she especially did not want that pathetic little creature to become a magnificent dragon, as she now realized she was.

Ms. Maple sighed. Two more changed students, and she knew for a fact that the father of this one hated the changed - she was his neighbor, after all, and had seen him dealing with her other neighbor, Ms. Nagra, a petite Indian woman, so she kinda knew what he was like - So much so that she had, so far, avoiding telling his children who she was, lest he tried to do something at the school too. She also remembered him trying to build up a petition to have HER removed from the neighborhood after she changed. She wondered if he would even take them in. As she parked in front of her house, where her loving husband - still unchanged - awaited her, she mused on how lucky she was to have a husband that not only didn't mind the changed, but also liked very much what she had become. The perks in this for him were quite obvious as well, given her new... drive. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of shouting and of wood breaking, though. She turned to look...

Karyn had taken to a nice routine of hers. After school, she spent a while swimming at her neighbor's, did homework and enjoyed herself at MMOs. She had learned to love the taste of crab and other seafood. Her parents were still cautious not to be hit by the sun, of course, but they had been extra-nice to her and very understanding about it. Unbeknownst to her, they had been considering the idea of going out into the sun. More and more, they felt it was a matter of time. That is why Karyn's mother knocked at Karyn's bedroom door.

"Karyn... I need your advice on something." - She said, holding a bowl of small crab cakes as she entered Karyn's room. Karyn had some experience with her mother to know what it meant when her mother entered her room with a tray of food she liked: Her mom would either tell Karyn bad news or about a really bad idea. And given that she 'needed her advice'...

This was gonna be good...
