"Sabotaged?" Jayla said serenely. "Why would we bother expending any effort on you at all?"
The answer only enraged Ryan further. "You arrogant little bitch!" he said, lunging at Jayla. However, when he did, he found himself missing entirely, crashing to the ground past the ascended blue.
Confused, Ryan glanced back. Jayla had been right in front of him. How had she managed to avoid him? She must have been either incredibly fast, or Ryan had somehow passed through her.
Jayla tilted her head, her face still completely unconcerned. "Have you ever seen a single ant attack a lion?" she asked dispassionately.
"What the hell are you talking about? Of course not!" Ryan said.
"Neither have I, but I am witnessing a similar situation now," Jayla said.
This comment angered Ryan further, who got to his feet to attack again. Jayla glanced at Buffy, who gave a nod of approval without even turning to face the spectacle.
"We need to stop this before it gets out of hand," Iwalani said, as he and Sonja watched the spectacle.
"Indeed. I doubt the blue group is in any danger, but it seems likely to end badly for Ryan," Sonja replied.
