As Gladys looked around, there was another flash of light. This was confusing to Leonard, Sally, Benny, Gladys herself, but since none of them fully understood the full pattern of the chair, they could not appreciate the full oddity of it.
The oddity was that the flash did not come from the chair Gladys had come from, as she had not departed from the chair at all. Rather, it came from a lounge chair across the pool. Sitting there now was Athena DeVries, a teenage goth girl and occult enthusiast.
Athena was wearing nothing but a tight blue speedo, showing off her purposely pale skin and modest breasts for the entire pool group.
