As they walked back to the car Jon felt his phone buzz in his pocket. After adjust the bags in his hands he then managed to pull it out.
"Hello?" He asked as he answered it.
"Oh hey Jon. It's me Amber."
Jon smiled. "Oh hey Amber." Jon noticed his mother look in his direction intrigued. Jon threw her a look and she quickly turned the other way.
"So about our date." Amber said getting straight to the point. "Are you free Wednesday night?"
Jon paused as he mentally looked up his diary. "Yeah. Of course I am." He told her.
"That's great. I'll pick you up at 7. Bye babe."
"Bye." Jon said hanging up. He couldn't believe it. He had a date with a cheerleader! Maybe one of his new tops would work on his date.
"So?" His mom asked dragging him back to the present. "Who was that?"
Jon rolled his eyes. "That was Amber. A girl from school." He told her. "She asked me out today and I said yes. She was just ringing to set up an actual date."
His mom smiled. "Oh congratulations son." His mom said.
"Thanks." Jon replied as they reached the car. They put all of the bags in the back and then headed home.
