"Hey mom." Jon said. "Where's dad?" Noticing for the first time that their father hadn't joined them.
"Oh he had to go in early." His mom explained as she collected Jon's bowl and put it in the dishwasher. "He's got a big meeting today."
Jon nodded. He remembered his dad talking about it all weekend. Jon stood up from the table. "I'm going to meet Karyn." He said.
"Ok sweetie. Have a good day." His mother told him before turning to his siblings. "You two best get a move on as well otherwise you'll be late."
Jon headed up to his room and collected his bag and put on his shoes before heading out to meet Karyn.
As he approached their usual meeting point Jon spotted Karyn already there waiting for him. He called out to her. "Hey Karyn!"
She looked over to his direction and Jon noticed her checking him out.
"Hey Jon-boy." She greeted him as he got closer. "Is that a new top?" She asked. "You look hot."
Jon stopped and blinked. What was going on with everyone today? Sure he hadn't worn this top in a while but both his mom and Karyn seemed to think it was new and that he looked good in it.
"Um, thanks." He said.
