Meanwhile the Williams family were about to sit down for their very first meal together.
"Kristy sweetie?" Abby asked as she entered the living room where Martin and the two kids where sitting. "Would you like to help mommy set the table?" Kristy nodded and got up off the floor to go and help his mother.
"Dinner will be ready in a few minutes." Abby told Martin. In the kitchen Abby showed Kristy how to set the table while made the final preparations for dinner. Once dinner was ready she called Ollie and Martin through.
"Here honey. Why don't you sit here next to daddy?" Abby suggested to Ollie.
"K!" She said happily as she sat down next to Martin. Martin ruffled Ollie's short black hair while Kristy sat down next to him.
"I hope you kids like spaghetti!" Abby announced as she started to server the meal.
"Yay, spaghetti!" Ollie shouted happily as Abby placed a plate in front of her. Abby laughed.
"I'll take as a yes." She said helping herself as she sat down and watched Ollie tuck in.
"So what do kids want to do tomorrow?" Abby asked as the new family enjoyed their meal. Tomorrow was Sunday so they had all day to get to know each other.
Kristy shrugged his shoulders but Ollie piped up. "I wanna play outside!" She said excitedly.
Abby looked over to Martin who nodded. "There's the park nearby." He suggested. "We could go there in the morning and then go to the game later."
Abby wondered what he was talking about but then remembered. "But honey. You're not in charge of the team anymore. You don't have to go."
Martin grunted. "I know but I want to see how well Rachel will do in charge." He said. "And besides the guys might be encouraged if they see me there."
Abby sighed. She had been hoping that Martin would take the extra time off to bond with his new children but then an idea came to her.
"I know. Why don't you take Ollie to the game and then I can take Kristy shopping. How does that sound?" She asked.
"Sounds great." Martin replied with Ollie and Kristy nodding in agreement.
"Then it's settled then. In the morning we'll go to the park and then we can go our separate ways."
