"Ollie! Kristy! Dinner's ready!" Abby called out to the living room.
"K!" Came a reply and there was movement from the living room as the two "children" came rushing in to the room. Abby smiled at them.
"Ok Kristy, why don't you sit here next to mommy?" Abby suggested indicating to a chair at the table.
"Ok!" Kristy said happily as he sat down.
"And then Ollie you can sit next to daddy." Ollie nodded as she sat down next to Martin.
"Hey sport." Martin said ruffling Ollie's short black hair. Ollie smiled back at him.
"I hope you two like spaghetti." Abby said as she started to dish out the meal that she had been preparing.
"Yay! Spaghetti!" Ollie shouted as she started to tuck in as soon as Abby placed a plate in front of her.
"I'll take that as a yes." Abby said laughing. She shared a smile with Martin as she sat down and started to tuck in herself.
The new family had a present meal making small talk and getting to know one another.
"Now I'd you two to go to bed after dinner." Abby said as they finished their meal.
"Awww, mom!" Ollie and Kristy whined in unison. Abby and Martin laughed.
"No arguments." Abby said. "Tomorrow's your first day at your new school so I want you well rested."
Ollie and Kristy nodded reluctantly as they got up and headed upstairs.
