Susan McMillan gasped and ran to her daughter's side. "How dare you!" she yelled at Athena. "If you don't leave right now, I will have to call the police. You cannot come to this house and assault my daughter."
"Listen, lady," Athena said. "She's not your daughter. She's not even part of your family."
Susan grew angrier. "Get out!" she yelled. She then pulled Karyn with her and slammed the door in Athena's face.
Inside, Susan attended to her daughter. "Are you okay, Karyn? That girl didn't hurt you too badly, did she?"
