Later that afternoon Jon had returned home with Mikey. Mikey had rushed off upstairs to his room while Jon made his way to the kitchen. He had had a busy day but he also had to make dinner.

He started bustling around the kitchen and started preparing the meal. It wasn't long before Zoe came home. "Hi mom!" She said happily as she entered the kitchen.

"Hi sweetie." Jon replied giving her a smile. "How were the tryouts?" He asked her.

"Oh it was great." Zoe said as she helped herself to a glass of water. "We narrowed it down to three finalists and we are going to announce them on Monday."

"Well done sweetie." Jon said. Zoe beamed at him. She then noticed that Jon seemed to be in a cheerful mood.

"You seem happy mom." She commented as she started setting the table.

"Yes. Well I suppose that I should tell you and I hope that you'll approve. I mean after you're father died and everything." Jon said hesitantly. He had been a bit worried about his children's reactions to his potential dating again.

"You've met someone?" Zoe asked. Jon nodded. "Oh mom!" Zoe squealed. "I'm so happy for you!" She put the plates down and then hugged Jon.

"Tell me everything!" She said excitedly as she sat down.

Jon smiled. He was glad that his daughter approved so he began to tell her all about Lucy. How she had rescued him to how she treated him in the restaurant

Zoe seemed fascinated by Lucy. As Jon described her he noticed Zoe staring at him with a dreamy look in her eyes.

"Oh my gosh mom!" Zoe said when Jon had finished. "She sounds wonderful. I wish that I could find someone like her." She said drifting off.

"So you don't mind me dating again?" Jon asked. Zoe shook her head.

"Of course not mom. You don't need our permission. It's been a long time since dad died. Maybe it's time."

Tears started falling down Jon's face. He brushed them away being careful not to ruin his makeup. "Aww, thanks honey." He said hugging her again. "And I'm sure that you'll find someone just as strong and handsome." He said encouraging her.

"I know." Zoe said as they released the hug.

"Now how about after dinner you can help me pick out a dress for our date tomorrow?" Jon suggested.

Zoe clapped her hands excitedly. "Of course mom! I'd be happy to help."
