"Such a nice day." Jon thought to himself. Having finished his errands for the morning Jon had decided to grab a bite to eat before he started on the groceries.
As it was such a nice day Jon took a walk through the local park on the way to lunch. There weren't many people around. A few people were eating their lunch in the park. Jon smiled at a woman who was pushing a stroller as he passed her.
"Hey lady!" A voice called from behind him. Jon turned in the direction of the voice. "Give me that bag!" The masked man said as he made to grab Jon's purse.
"No!" Jon yelled as he kept a tight grip on his purse. "Let go!" The man said angrily. Jon started looking around for help.
"Help!" Jon shouted still not letting go of his purse.
Suddenly the man attacking Jon was tackled causing him to let go of the purse. Jon fell backwards in surprise landing on the path. He watched in horror as two people scuffled until one emerged victorious.
To Jon's surprise it was a girl. She was blonde and was wearing a cheerleading outfit. She got up and then made her way over to Jon.
"Are you, like, OK ma'am?" The girl asked offering to help Jon up.
Jon nodded too shocked to talk. He took the girl's hand which had a surprisingly firm grip.
Jon smoothed his skirt out and fluffed his hair then took a closer look at his rescuer. She was small but Jon figured she worked out a lot as her arms were quite muscular.
Jon found himself staring at the girl before he blushed and looked away.
"Thank you for saving me." Jon said. "I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come along."
"Oh, like, don't worry about it." The girl said. She held out her hand. "Lucy Corinth" she said.
Jon shook her hand. "Jon Gibson." He replied blushing still.
"Do you, like, mind if I walk you out of the park?" Lucy asked. "You know, to make sure you're OK?"
Jon shook his head. "Oh thank you." He said. "I was actually on my way to lunch. Would you like to join me?" He asked hoping she would say yes.
"I'd like that." Lucy said smiling at Jon who blushed again.
