“Now’s my chance”, Mikey thought. Before he could say anything though
his mom called from the bottom of the stairs. “Mikey, get down here now!
You need to eat your breakfast so I can drop you off at school.” “I’ll get you
later,” Mikey thought. He headed down the stairs into the kitchen. His sister
was already there pouring some cereal while his mom fixed Jon’s breakfast.
“Damn,” Zoe said, as some of the cereal missed the bowl and hit the floor.
“Really Zoe. You’re not a little kid anymore who can’t pour cereal,” said her
mom. “You’ll have to clean that up yourself. I need to finish getting ready.”
Their mom left the kitchen while Zoe grumbled as she got on her knees to
clean up the cereal. Mikey had a thought about making this amusing. “Zoe,
You have the mind of a hungry chicken.” “I don’t know why things.hap-hap
buc-buc-buc.” Zoe started to peck at the cereal, picking up the pieces in her
mouth while continuing to cluck like a chicken. Mikey giggled at the scene,
then heard his brother coming down the stairs. “Zoe, your normal again.”
Zoe stopped pecking and clucking, cereal still in her mouth.
“What the fuck is going on?!” She quickly got up, poured milk on her cereal
and sat down. “Mikey, did you see anything Strange?” Mikey managed to
keep a straight face,”No sis. You were just cleaning The floor.” Zoe began
to eat her cereal, but it was obvious she was uncertain.
