"OK sweetie." Jon said happily as he let Mikey out of the car. "Mommy has some things to do today but I'll be here to pick you up after school." He promised.
Mikey nodded. He hugged Jon and then turned and started to walk towards the school.
"Have a good day honey!" Jon called out from the car. He watched proudly as his son spotted some of his friends and rushed over to them. His little boy was growing up so fast.
Jon sighed happily as he started the car up and pulled out of the parking space. Today was going to be a good day he thought.
He had to get his driver's licence renewed and then hopefully he could finally sort out the problem with his credit cards. Jon wasn't particularly looking forward to that. He knew that the process could take forever. He just hoped he would be out in time to pick up Mikey.
On the way he stopped at a Starbucks and ordered a coffee on the go. He took his wallet out of his purse and then paid for it before heading back to his car.
Placing the coffee in the cup holder he switched on the engine. He tuned in to a chat show where the girls hosting were currently talking about housekeeping tips.
