Then suddenly paused as she discovered she wasn't alone.
"Hello Rebecca." A voice said from a corner of the room.
Rebecca gasped nearly spilling her wine. She turned in the direction of the voice fumbling for the light switch as she did so.
"Please. Don't turn the lights on." The voice requested. Rebecca gulped but complied with the request. She went and sat down opposite the voice.
"I see your doing well." The voice said. Rebecca nodded. Through the light coming from outside she could make out a silhouette of a man. She new who this was. This was her boss.
"How are things going at the school?" The man asked.
"Everything is going well Sir. We are right on schedule and so far we've only had one problem." Rebecca replied taking a sip of her wine.
"Oh?" The man asked intrigued.
"There's a girl. Her name's Karyn. She seemed resistant to our approaches first but don't worry I've finally gotten through to her." Rebecca replied.
"I see. Are you sure that's all?"
Rebecca shuddered. She could feel him studying her. He creeper her out a little. She had never actually seen his face. He always kept to the shadows whenever they had met.
Rebecca gulped. "Well there is one thing Sir." She said. The man leaned forward in his chair.
"The things is I'm sure that I spotted her with another girl so I don't know who else that's she talked to about what's going on.
But I've established myself at the school now so any stories that she might have come up with I'm sure that no one will believe her."
"And if they do?" The man asked a slight anger in his voice.
"Then I will deal with them Sir. I promise." Rebecca replied. Hoping that would satisfy him.
The man fell silent for a moment contemplating things. Rebecca nervously took a sip of her wine. Then the man reclined back into his chair and Rebecca relaxed.
"See that you do." He replied finally.
"Of course Sir?"
"And the boy?" The man asked. It took Rebecca a few moments to realise that he was asking about Alex.
"I'm sorry Sir. I know that we're not supposed to get attached to our subjects but I just couldn't help myself." Rebecca paused taking a sip of her wine.
"It's what he wants and I've always wanted a daughter of my own but..."
The man held up his hand to stop her.
"It's alright Rebecca. Just make sure that he's not a distraction."
"I won't Sir. Thank you Sir." Rebecca replied breathing a sigh of relief.
The man looked at his watch. "It's late. Why don't you go to bed Rebecca? I'll see myself out."
Rebecca nodded. "Of course Sir. Good night Sir." She said. Rebecca finished her glass and then went to her room to get ready for bed.
