Karyn steeled herself. She couldn't imagine that Jon wanted to be a mother. She was sure Miss Fine was lying. But what about? She wasn't sure what was true.
"Alex sweetie!" Rebecca called. He came out into the hall. "We're going now." She said. Jon came out as well.
"You're leaving already?" Jon asked.
Rebecca nodded. "I'm sorry if I caused any disturbance Jon. It seems as though Karyn and I have different points of view." She said. Rebecca grabbed Alex's hand and then turned to Karyn.
"My offer of a lift home still stands Karyn. Perhaps we can talk all this out."
Karyn was going to say no but Jon put a hand on her shoulder.
"I think you go with her dear. After all Rebecca is only trying to help. I mean look at our family." He said. "We're getting along much better thanks to Rebecca."
Karyn grimaced as she looked at Jon in his dress with the blonde hair and then she looked at Alex. Would something similar happen to her if she got in the car?
Jon gently pushed her towards Miss Fine. Karyn sighed. She didn't seem to have much of choice.
"OK, I'll go." She said.
Rebecca smiled. She hugged Jon. "Thank you Jon. I hope Mikey gets better." She said as she turned to leave. "Come on sweetie." She said to Alex and the two headed to her car with Karyn following reluctantly behind her.
Alex got in the back seat while Karyn sat next to Miss Fine. They waved to Jon as Miss Fine pulled off the drive.
