Zoe giggled. "Me? A Goth? Come on, Karyn, what's the joke?"
"There's no joke Zoe." Karyn said seriously, shaking her head.
"There's something going on and I think it has something to do with that Miss Fine woman at school." She said.
"Oh you mean the school counselor? She's great." Zoe said smiling.
"Yeah, that's what everyone keeps saying." Karyn replied getting a little frustrated.
"Zoe," she said. "You're supposed to be a Goth. Jon is supposed to be a teenage boy, not your mother and your mother apparently thinks that she's a teenager." Karyn paused to catch her breath.
Zoe looked at Karyn in disbelief. She was about to respond when Jon returned.
"Oh mom!" Zoe gushed. "That dress is so you." She said to him.
Jon blushed. "Why thank you honey." He said giving a twirl. He was wearing a red housedress with black stockings and matching flats. He had a silver bracelet on his wrist and a gold heart necklace hanging from his neck with matching earrings.
"Now if you'll excuse me I have to cook dinner." He said. "Why don't you two girls go and chat somewhere?" He suggested.
Zoe nodded and grabbed a gaping Karyn's hand and pulled her out of the room.
