"Mikey needs someone who can take care of him," Jon said. "I can do that...And you can't miss an entire day..."
"I've made up my mind," Linda said. "I'm staying with him."
Jon shook his head. "No Linda. I'm the one who should be looking after him. How can I be sure that you won't just spend the whole day on your tablet?"
"I'm his mother Jon!" Linda replied. "I should be looking after him."
"May I say something?" Rebecca asked.
"Of course Rebecca. You always seem to know what to say." Jon replied.
"Thank you Jon" she replied. She then turned to Linda.
"Jon's right Linda. I think that he should be the one to look after Mikey"
Linda opened her mouth but Rebecca held up a finger to stop her.
"He's much more responsible than you. I mean he's been busy doing the cleaning, cooking and the laundry. What have you been doing?"
Linda was surprised. "But you to!d me that I shouldn't worry about those things."
Rebecca nodded. "True but there are other things that you could do around the house. Instead of looking at your tablet all day."
"Like what?" Linda asked.
