Zoe already looked a bit more confident, after her encouraging words.
Miss Fine reached into her bag. "Now I got you a little gift." She said pulling out some teenage fashion magazines. "If you want to become a cheerleader you are going to have learn about the latest fashion trends." She handed them to Zoe.
"Cheerleaders are always wearing the current stuff and always know how to look good." Zoe nodded.
Jon came into the room with a smile on his face.
"How's Mikey?" Miss Fine asked.
"Fine." Jon replied still smiling. "He's so peaceful when he sleeps. I could watch him all night."
Miss Fine nodded smiling. "Good" she thought to herself. "Jon is progressing well".
"Rebecca I'm sorry about my mother's behaviour earlier." Jon said apologetically.
"It's quite alright Jon. I actually expected it. It's part of the process." Miss Fine replied.
"Still I feel as if it's my fault." Jon replied.
Miss Fine shook her head. "Not at all Jon. Although there is something that you could do about it." She said.
"Taking care of someone isn't just about making sure that they are fed and have clean underwear." Miss Fine explained. "You have to teach them as well."
Jon nodded listening.
"You need to teach them how to behave and encourage them to try new things. And particularly with Linda you need to speak with more authority."
"What do you mean?" Jon asked.
"Well she won't respond if you keep calling her mom or mother. You need to call her by her name." Miss Fine replied.
