Zoe looked so different that it took Jon a few moments to recognize her ... because she no longer looked gothic in the slightest. In fact, she had a very plain and prudish look about her.
A look at the mailbox in front of the house showed Jon that a family named Shepard lived here. The only Shepard he knew of was Tina Shepard, Nadine Ferguson's best friend. And given the fact that Tina was as religious and prudish as Nadine was and Zoe looked about the same right now, it made sense that this was Tina's house.
"What are they doing?" Biff asked, standing on the lawn and watching the workmen carrying things into the house.
"They're replacing Tina Shepard with my sister, I think," Jon said. This was all so unreal. How was he going to stop these guys?
"Who's that?" Biff asked, pointing to someone's body being carried by two of the workmen.
"I think that's Tina," Jon said.
They watched as Tina was put into the van, along with some of her belongings from the house. Apparently, while the new version of Zoe was getting some new belongings, the originals weren't being totally replaced.
Should Jon try to wake up Zoe and get her to understand what's happened to her, and maybe rescue her, somehow? Or should Jon and Biff follow the black van to wherever it's going next?
