Taking a seat next to the Karyn, Jon saw that she definitely was older. She looked to be in her early to mid twenties, which meant she could be nearly a decade older than him. And yet she was still acting like she and Jon were close friends.
"So, Jon-boy, any particular reason you're out of it?" Karyn asked, as she began the drive to the library. She gave Jon a sideways glance, which made him wonder if this Karyn was privy to the secret of the wishing stone like the old Karyn was. She had ample breasts and blonde hair just like Karyn had after her careless wish, but with her slightly altered appearance they looked more organic, as if they were a natural part of her as opposed to something inserted by the stone.
"No particular reason," Jon, lied, glancing at Zoe in the backseat.
"Alright," Karyn said, sounding like she didn't completely believe Jon. "So how was the concert, Zoe?"
"Pretty awesome," Zoe said. The two young women carried on that thread for awhile, and Jon was glad to just sit back and listen for awhile. Based off their conversation, both his sister and his best friend seemed to retain most of their personality traits, though it seems Karyn's new age and Zoe's relative mellowness left them slightly different than before.
He didn't have too long to study Karyn and Zoe's changes, however, as a few minutes later they pulled up in front of the library. The Madison siblings piled out, and Karyn gave Jon another grin. "Alright, I really need to get home now. Have plenty of stuff to do. See you tomorrow in class, Jon-boy," she said, before driving off.
"Class? Isn't Karyn a little old to be going to class with me?" Jon wondered aloud.
The question was not geared towards anyone in particular, but nevertheless Zoe answered it. "It's not like she's in the class with you or anything," she said, turning towards the library.
"What do you mean?" Jon asked.
Zoe gave Jon a look. "You know what it means. Karyn isn't a student in your class, she's your teacher. I know she's been your friend for longer, but still, you shouldn't pretend you forget that."
"Oh," Jon said. These changes just seemed to be getting weirder and weirder.
