"I think I chased Quill off again," Nadie said, after breaking off her kiss with Denise.
Denise nodded. "Why your sister adopted that silly name, I'll never understand."
"For professional reasons, I thought. More people know her as Quill than Laura, I suppose." Nadie sighed. "Most people assume I'm estranged from her because I came out of the closet. To be honest, I don't think she cares a bit about that."
"Well, she's in town ... she hasn't left. There's still time," Denise said.
"You're probably right, but right now, I need to center myself ... with you," Nadie said, with a grin. "But we should put away the groceries first," she said, after a moment.
"That's my Nadie. You're always so practical."
"Someone has to be," Nadie said. "You do tend to forget things, love."
"Only when I'm distracted by you," Denise replied, taking the groceries out of the bag.
Right after they were neatly put away, they headed off for some alone time.
