Meanwhile, Kendall drove away and back towards the police station. He needed to give the police a statement, after all. But halfway there, he pulled his car over to the side of the street.
He slapped his hand hard against his face. "Wake up," he told himself. Without even thinking about it, he was on his way back to the place he just snuck out of a few minutes ago. He was acting like this Kendall Stevens woman that the phenomenon was turning him into.
Kendall grabbed his phone again and dialed ... a friend of his. At a time like this, he needed moral support.
"Hello?" he heard someone say over the phone. The reception wasn't the greatest, since it was a cellphone. But it almost sounded like a man's voice.
"It's Kendall. Do you think we could talk a bit? I'm still a bit rattled by ..." Kendall stopped, realizing what he was doing, then said "Sorry, I think I have the wrong number." Then he quickly hung up.
But the damage was done.
Somewhere in town, the man that Kendall called suddenly found himself wearing a green sundress, something that a middle-aged woman would wear. In fact, this man would slowly begin to think that he was a close friend of Kendall Stevens.
