Yuina rushed for her car keys and hurried out the door, only to run face-first into Mark Madison, her (former) husband. He was out of town when his wife and kids changed, so since he was outside of the influence of the stone, both his appearance and his memories remained the same.
But now, after Yuina accidentally touched him, that began to change. He blinked, looking at the Japanese woman in front of him. At first, he didn't know who she was or why she was in his house, but now ... how could he forget his own wife? Wait a minute, he thought. My wife isn't Japanese. He blinked again, wondering why he would think that. Of course his wife was Japanese. Why would she be anything else?
"Yuina," he said, her name coming to him. For some reason, he thought that it was ... Linda? Where did he get that name from? It didn't sound Japanese in the slightest. "Where are you going in such a hurry?"
"I have to pick up the children," she said, her voice now having a distinct Japanese accent. And why wouldn't it? In this new reality, Yuina lived in Japan for at least half her life. As did Mark.
He nodded, letting her go. Then he walked into his house, wanting to relax a bit from his long day. And as he did, he began to slowly change ... his skin becoming yellower and his hair becoming blacker.
