"Nadine is taking quite a long time, isn't she?" Sister Tiffany said.
Laura Ferguson looked up. "Who?"
"Your daughter. Nadine."
"Sister, I don't have a daughter."
"But you said that ..." Sister Tiffany became confused. She could have sworn that Laura told her that her daughter was joining them, but she supposed she could have been wrong. Laura didn't seem like the type of woman to lie. Sister Tiffany must have just remembered wrong.
As Tiffany (now thinking of herself as Sister Tiffany) sat there, she grew older, becoming almost 30 years old. But her aging process wasn't done. She still had much more to age. But as it was, it was more believable that a 30-year old would be a nun than a teenager. That was, if anyone even noticed.
A few minutes later, Nadine finally arrived at the middle school and entered through the main entrance. On the way there, she could have sworn that she was in high school. But that was ridiculous, right? She wasn't old enough.
