"Melissa, you're not supposed to be down here," Ellen said, grabbing her and pulling her into the laundry room, away from the party-goers.
"But I wanna see what everyone's doing," the girl said.
"You're not old enough," Ellen said. "Now go back upstairs and watch your cartoons."
"O-kay," Melissa said, pouting. The 10-year old girl (Miranda's little sister) turned around and headed back upstairs. She didn't get why her sister and all her friends got to have fun and not her.
Ellen shook her head, then rejoined the party. Where had Miranda gotten off to?
