Jon started with standard foundation and blush, not noticing that the face he was accentuating now had much more pronounced cheekbones and softer features. He left the light sprinkling of freckles on his nose alone, liking how they accented his button nose just right.
Next was eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara, all expertly applied to make his bright green eyes really pop. Jon paid no heed to the fact that his eyes were once blue. Next came his lips, to which he applied a cherry red which matched his nails perfectly. By the time he was done applying the coating, his lips had become the perfect shape for the look: plump, soft, and moist.
Jon examined his handiwork and smiled. It was perfect. Not to gaudy, but certainly enough to draw and keep plenty of attention. He blew a kiss to his reflection, then noticed his hair. It had now reached down to his shoulders, and had turned to a bright red color.
"Now, what to do with this..." he pondered.
Meanwhile, in the car, Zoe was growing impatient. "I can't believe her. I mean him. I mean- you know what, never mind."
"You really shouldn't get this mad," Michelle remarked, flipping a page in her comic book. "I mean, Jon does this every time."
Zoe looked over at her sister. Michelle was a year younger than her, and the closer of her two sisters. She knew Michelle was right, but still, Jon could act so irresponsible sometimes. What kind of parent was she? he. "I know that, but I could have driven us there by now, for crying out loud."
"Yeah, yeah, keep touting that driver's license of yours," Michelle grumbled good naturedly. "Just because you just got it, doesn't mean I won't ever."
Zoe allowed herself a smile, then turned back towards the house. "Jeez, how does it take so long to get ready for something so routine?"
